Finnish Linko Raises $2,6M Seed, Expands to Russia and Brings Olga Steidl On Board To Drive Growth

We have known Olga Steidl since her role as head of marketing at SPB Software (sold to Yandex) and the CEO of TalkBits (backed by Runa Capital). As Linko, the mobile CRM startup announced its unusually large seed round of $2,6 million, Steidl has joined its team as it plans its expansion to Russia and other markets.

Linko is a mobile app that helps sales people minimize reporting associated with CRM process. I caught up with the Linko CEO and co-founder Vesa Perälä who explained that the real innovation comes from the mobile domain. Linko app automatically picks up information from phone calls and emails and reports it to the company’s headquarters in real time.  It is offered as a free app to individuals, but costs 40 Euros per user per month when the company uses centralized reporting functionality.

Unlike many startups aiming at the US market, Finnish Linko goes after a number of countries, and Russia is amongst the top first markets where the company begins its expansion.  Perälä refers to the size of the market, the largest one in Europe, that drove the decision to go to Russia. A former head of technology partnerships at Mail.ru Igor Gonebnyy  is going to drive Linko efforts out of its Moscow office.
