Y Soft Ventures announced the investment in two startups from the Czech Republic: $1.3M in GreyCortex and $1M in Lumitrix.
GreyCortex develops a solution for monitoring network security and performance for critical infrastructure. The system uses machine learning and data mining algorithms to automatically create rules for detecting threats for a specific network or device. The solution is identity and application aware and uses a flow-based monitoring engine for faster processing. The system is already in use by the Mexican University UACM and the Czech National Security Authority.
For R&D the startup cooperates with the Faculty of Information Technology of Brno University, whose team was very successful in at NIST challenges involving advanced machine learning and detection algorithms in video recognition.
Lumitrix creates software and hardware for an easy-to-use outdoor projection-mapping solution. The outdoor Lumitrix T projector is weather-proof, therefore illumination designers don’t need to install cumbersome tents to protect the device from the rain. Compared to traditional projection installations, the Lumitrix T is very easy to set up and is controlled via Wi-FI using a mobile app or in a browser or via GSM remote control.
So far, the projection has been mostly used for entertainment or outdoor marketing campaigns, but the Czech startup believes that, given the right features, the projection-mapping can be used in other areas, and that’s what Lumitrix is planning to prove with the “smart money” and business support from Y Soft Ventures.
On Lumitrix YouTube channel you can see more examples of their projects.
