LeadR, a Polish online marketing agency owned by the search engine marketing company Cube Group has been sold to the Polish angel investor Łukasz Wejchert. The size of the transaction has not been disclosed. LeadR will become a part of the Dirlango Group owned by Wejchert. The Cube Group backed by Polish seed venture funds Xevin Investments and IQ Partners remains in the portfolio of the investment funds.
One of the reasons for acquisition according to Wejchert, is the consistency of LeadR business with the Dirlango product range that consists primarily of mobile apps such as social Wifi app Justtag, taxi ordering service iTaxi and a mobile operator Virgin Mobile.
According to Gwidon Humeniuk, the co-founder of Xevin Investments, Cube Group has grown from PPC company to one of the largest performance-based marketing agencies in Europe. For LeadR Cube Group acted as an accelerator, bringing an idea about lead generation into a profitable business. An element of LeadR service is co-registration – a service that combines registration with a promotion of a third-party product at a discount.
Considering that the cost of mobile app marketing is growing continuously, turning to more traditional marketing tools such as email marketing may be a more affordable alternative for Dirlango.
This is one of the infrequent events where a venture-backed company sees a partial exit and according to Humeniuk, a good success story.
