Slovak Startup Awards took place the third time this year, and the winner in the categories Science, Art & Design, Society and Digital were announced.
Here they are:
Palladium-free Gas Sensor took a Science award for inexpensive monitoring of gas leaks such as hydrogen. Because it does not use palladium, it is less expensive and reusable. The applications include leak detection at gas stations.
CulCharge took an award of Art & Design for its USB smart phone charge cable. The cable allows connecting to any USB device to charge your iOS or Android phone and can be attached to the keychain. Of course the idea is not new, but the design looks good.
Speekle wins Society award to help children overcome speech impediments through games.
Inhiro wins Digital in a difficult-to-monetize online recruitment field by helping employers recruit via social networks.
The overall winner and recipient of Vox Populi Prize is Datamolino, that applies character recognition technology to accounting, extracting data from paper invoices and saving time on manual data entry.
