Many have probably used Presdo or its equivalents, by attending one event or the other. The most valuable feature I found when I used it is the networking module: being able to find, contact and agree on a meeting with a suitable attendee.
Ukrainian Attendify has just announced releasing the social functionality for its white-label mobile app builder which take the usefulness of its event apps to a new level. The company has also reported raising $200,000 from TMT Investments to continue improving its technology.
Artem Yaremchuk, the co-founder and COO of Attendify, showcased to me the demo of the product, and it seems to have covered all aspects of an event from an attendee’s perspective within a native mobile app. The event organizers can include informational modules into the event app, such as a program, speakers, locations but now also a list of attendees and the networking between them is available within its list of features. The users can follow the link of the event organizer to download the event app from an app store, register as an attendee and get in touch with other registered attendees. The registration is facilitated through a connection via LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter.
The main section of the app shows the news stream, including the social media page posts, user posts, their public comments and photos that organizers can manually screen and filter.
Interestingly, there are some other event startups such as TicketForEvent and OMyConf! (that has been used for TechCrunch Moscow) that came out of Ukraine within the recent years. OMyConf! offers similar functionality to that of Attendify, whilst TicketForEvent simplifies ticket management and registration process.
