The Polish VC fund Innovation Nest has invested €464K in Wayman, a developer of ERP software market for engineering and design firms.
The startup was co-founded by Marcin Konstantynowicz and Piotr Bilon, who both used to be employees of big design companies. Marcin, programmer, and Bilon, managing director at a ship design firm, came to a conclusion that their industry needed a niche ERP system to increase the efficiency of business management. So they developed the first version of their ERP system which was used in Bilon’s company, which in 2013 was commissioned with the task to raise Costa Concordia wreck. It was a huge project, and Wayman ERP system made its management significantly more efficient.
Wayman system is specifically crafted for the needs of design and engineering firms and is integrated with other relevant products such as CAD software. The startup reports a 20% growth in monthly sales, and its clients come from shipbuilding, oil&gas, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
So far most of the clients come from Poland, and the recent funding will be used to expand internationally, to build a sales and marketing team, customer support, hire new developers.
