This week Czech startup accelerator Startup Yard begins to accept applications for its Spring 2014 program. As Czech search engine and most visited website Seznam.cz has joined the accelerator last year, there is no surprise that the focus of the accelerator has been put on data, search and analytics startups.
Why join? The accelerator offers not that great amount of cash – only 10,000 Euros for 5 percent but the free accommodation for the 3-months program, access to 90 mentors, training on all aspects of doing business, native English speaker for copyrighting and blogging all add up, according to the Startup Yard team, to 250,000 Euros in benefits (Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, Softlayer, Google App Engine and Microsoft Biz Park included), not to mention concept validation with Seznam.cz where applicable. Besides the European teams that join the accelerator will receive free accommodation and a return flight from anywhere in Europe.
Since Startup Yard was launched in September 2011 it backed 22 teams, of which two were acquired and 16 are still active.
