You might have noticed that I have refrained from commenting on the political situation in Ukraine in as much as it is hard for me to do so. I am partially Ukrainian and partially Russian, I have close Ukrainian friends, I work with Ukrainian and Russian tech companies and I write about Ukrainian and Russian startups.
The events in Ukraine over the past few months have affected me deeply, yet offering the opinion on the complex subject of corrupt Ukrainian politicians, and the relationships between Russia and Ukraine are best left to the political commentators and those who are experiencing those events in Ukraine first-hand.
For now I would like to post a message from Ukrainian IT companies calling the world to help peace in Ukraine. In the end, Europe and US can do much more to help restore peace in Ukraine than to reject visa applications or freeze bank accounts of the Russian politicians.
