Russia
Building of the era of the Cold War and underlying world class scientific base, Russia is developing a strong technology reputation with global companies such as IBM, Motorola, Intel, Dell and Boeing. Some of these companies have had established operations and staff placements in Russia for decades. Ukraine
The country currently has over 300 outsourcing companies that export ITO services. Goaleurope conducted a research of the offshore marketplace in 2007, identifying the market size of $246M growing at 50% per annum. Bulgaria
Bulgaria has an unusually well-developed educational system specializing in electronics, engineering, and computer sciences. There are more than 47 universities with more than 5,000 Bulgarian students majoring in computer science and 5,000 in electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, and biotechnology. Bulgaria’s advanced education is ranking fifth amongst all countries in sciences and eleventh in mathematics, according to The World Bank. Read more…>
Belarus
With its modest population of 9.9 million, Belarus hosts the largest and most established European IT outsourcing providers to the east of Germany. Five of its largest IT outsourcers are at
least 10 years old, an age well above average for a private business in Belarus. Two major ones, IBA Group and EPAM Systems, have respectively 1500 and 1200 employees, while the next largest outsourcer in the region, Luxoft from Russia, has around 850. Read more…>
Latvia
Latvia has been identified as a high priority market for the IT sector, which is developing very fast towards western forms and standards, in terms of both technical and business
infrastructure. The most important target area for development of the IT sector is Latvia in the short to medium term is software development outsourcing. Software development has grown to include over 100 companies, employing around 4000 qualified staff. Read more…>
