Romanian Style Jukebox we covered earlier helps consuming the music people already owned by putting it into the cloud. The startup has just came out with the news about a deal with the Bulgarian telecom operator Vivacom, which will white-label their solution as Vivacom Cloud Music Player. The service comes at a price of 1 Euro per months for up to 5000 songs, and 1,5 Euro per month for 10,000 song capacity. The service also provides unlimited 3G traffic for streaming and downloading.
Now, I am not sure about the quality of 3G coverage in Bulgaria, but here in a good old Germany, as soon as you are two steps away from a city, your coverage changes from LTE to 3G and then quickly to Edge, where you cannot stream anything at all. So even with a generous 3G and LTE traffic on my contract I still download content from Deezer, Ted Talks and Pocket Casts apps in case I hit the Edge spot (and I hit it all the time).
This is just to say that the offline / online music streaming business model works both ways. Pay to get it into the cloud, or pay to download it to your device. That is until the coverage gets more consistent.
