The mini-task startups go after scale. Considering that an average price paid for a mini-task is $45 (on TaskRabbit, according to The New Yorker), one expects a large-numbers-game to offer returns on investment of $38 million TaskRabbit raised to date.
Russian equivalent (because using the term “clone” is so 2011) of TaskRabbit in Russia is YouDo has raised $1 million from Flint Capital. YouDo was launched in April 2012, initially self-funded, and subsequently with seed funding from angel investors, reports Digit.ru. Flint is a new $30 million venture fund in Russia created by the former team members of Finam Global, the fund that back in 2008 backed the better known Russian “startup” Badoo.
Here are the Russian stats. Daily the business process 500 tasks, and each active users place orders 2,5 times a month. There are over 3000 freelancers registered on the site, operating in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
