Mark your calendars now as TechChill Baltics returns to Riga on February 13th, 2014, Ernests Stals (host of this year’s event and co-founder of Reach.ly) tells us. Even though the event is still just under 6 months off, we thought that it would worth offering a heads-up about the date. Like last year, the event is expected to be organized and hosted by TechHub Riga, which offers co-working space and as a nice meeting place in the Latvian capital. The event is still a good ways off, so we do not have information about tickets just yet, but we will certainly pass the information along as the date approaches.
As with many events, there will be a pitch contest at TechChill Baltics 2014. At last year’s event, organizers selected 5 of the most promising startups from the Baltics to show off their pitching abilities for the jury and audience in attendance (which included prominent investors from the region). Last year’s winner at the event was Lithuanian language-learning service BliuBliu and the remaining finalists were Fastr, FrendApp, Froont, and Spherico. Only a week after the event, Froont obtained more than 100,000 Euro in funding, so it will be interesting to the next crop of promising Baltic startups at the 2014 event.
