Zet Universe, a Moscow-based company which developed the Zet Universe app for visual collaboration and sharing, announces that they have obtained pre-seed funding from LETA Capital, Altair Capital, and the Moscow State University (MSU) Business Incubator. The amount of this latest round has not been disclosed, but the press release from LETA says that they do deals between 300,000 to 1,5 million Euro. According to their CrunchBase profile, Zet Universe has previously obtained seed-funding in the form of $10k (7,500 Euro) in October 2010 from founder and current CEO Daniel Kornev and in the form of $2K (1,500 Euro) in April 2012 from an undisclosed investor.
According to Pavel Kuzmenko, the head of sales and marketing at Zet Universe, the service is essentially a tablet-based visual-collaboration platform for enterprise, or “office documents for visual people”. They currently have 200 alpha testers and 2 pilot business customers. The service remains free to alpha and beta testers, but they are working on a price model, which should be out later this year. The product is presently an application for ultrabooks and tablets. Their (indirect) competition includes Mural.ly, Russian Realtime Board, SpaceDeck, Clipsi, and Convo. The company has a number of potential partners in services like Dropbox, Evernote, Microsoft Office365, EMC (Documentum), and OpenText for SAP.
