Startup Belarus announces the Baltic BayAreaStartupRoadShow, a trip from November 9-12 which will provide an opportunity for mentors from Silicon Valley to meet with local startups and will offer 5 lucky startups a chance to travel to California to study in Silicon Valley. The group will begin in Minsk and travel through the Baltics to Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn, before ending their journey in Helsinki. The mentors from Silicon Valley will be the speakers from the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Belarus, Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics, and Slush events, which will each be held soon after this trip.
The event is organized by BEL.BIZ, a Belarusian company founded in 2010 to run startup events in the country and to provide education about building a business. All the ticket information can be found here, but the prices are 258 Euro if you join at the beginning in Minsk, 206 Euro for those joining in Vilnius, and 155 Euro if you opt to join in Riga. For that price, participants are provided with transportation, event access, accommodations, and a discount for SLUSH participation fees. Those who find their own accommodations can opt for the cheaper ticket, which costs 134 Euro to leave from Minsk, 104 Euro to leave from Vilnius, and 73 Euro to go from Riga. In each case, tickets are on sale until November 8th.
Although it isn’t part of the trip package, you can also mark your calendars for GEW Belarus (November 18-24), Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics (held this year in Vilnius, Lithuania on November 9-10), and the Slush conference, which will take place on November 13-14 in Helsinki. Participants of the RoadShow are offered a discount for tickets to Slush, which are currently available for 200 Euro (or 750 Euro for an Executive Pass), but it is unclear as to how much of a discount they can expect to receive.
