Polish Internet holding Red Sky tells us that they recently launched TeslaThemes, theme-clubs for WordPress templates. We have done a handful of posts about them in the past 3 months, but probably most relevant is the one about their Winithemes service, through which they offer thousands of premium templates for WordPress. I talked to Marcel Sobieski, COO at Red Sky, and he told me that although they have been designing premium templates for WordPress since 2011, they were inspired more than a year ago to establish their own store and managed to launch on May 25th. Since then, Sobieski says that they have attracted 1,500 registered users.
Sobieski tells us that they are aiming to release 2 WP templates per month and that they have 5 scheduled to come out by mid-July. He tells me that they believe that the market is saturated with “cheap” and “plastic” templates and that they strive to create templates that are clean and attractive. One of the services that he highlighted is the Tesla Framework, which he says has contributed to an 85% drop in the number of support tickets. Many customers lacked technical knowledge and familiarity with WordPress. As a result, they decided to develop their own Framework to make it easier for inexperienced users to customize templates more easily.
Red Sky is not concerned with revenue from TeslaThemes at the moment, but is focused on developing a quality product. Sobieski tells me that affiliates receive 50% of the revenue from each sale. Finances will rise in importance in the coming months and prices will follow. For now, Sobieski they offer a single theme for $25/annually (19 euro), a package of all existing themes and new ones to come over the next 12 months for $35/annually (26 euro), and all existing packages + the coming new ones + access to the .psd files for $55/annually (41 euro).
