Polish website-builder site Web.me officially launched last Wednesday as the newest project from Polish firm Red Sky and an undisclosed UK firm. We received a tip from the service’s creator, Marcin Zmaczynski just a couple of weeks ago after we did posts on a contest from recently-established SoftFinder and on WordPress template-aggegator Winithemes.
For free users, Web.me offers 3 pages, 20MB of storage, 0.5TB of bandwidth and access to Google statistics and traffic optimization. Those who go for the standard package can get 10 pages, 1GB of storage, and 1TB of bandwidth, premium support, and the option of removing ads. The priciest two packages are largely same, offering everything that the first two offer, plus e-commerce, free domain, premium templates, premium widgets. Both offer unlimited pages and bandwidth, but the highest-priced option offers unlimited storage and mobile editing.
What we know about Web.me is that they are offering 4 pricing-packages at launch. Based on the needs of the site creator, packages range from free to $29/month (22 euro). One of the interesting aspects of their pricing packages is that they offer users the ability to select their price for the “standard” package. Users can select any figure from $1/month (0,77 euro) to $9/month (6,93 euro). Zmaczynski wants for people to pay based on how much they appreciate the service.
