Billed as a European alternative to popular sites such as SurveyMonkey, Czech startup Survio offers businesses templates for creating various types of surveys. I wanted to know what the company has been up to for the past year, so I decided to go straight to the source and managed to get a hold of the company’s CEO, Ondrej Coufalik, and asked him to fill me in on their growth.
Coufalik told me that, backed by an initial investment of $75,000 (57,600 euro) from strategic partner Webnode, the company has managed to attract more than 100,000 users. Over the past year, Survio has spread its reach to 124 countries and now offers templates in 11 languages. The service is free, but they offer paid-plans at $13 (10 euro) and $34 (26 euro) per month, depending on the number of surveys a company needs, the number of responses expected, and whether or not the customer wishes to offer customized surveys.
On their site, the company lists such giants as Microsoft, Ford, IBM, and MasterCard, among others, as clients. Perhaps most interesting to me is that you have the ability to buy survey responses through the site. They claim that those who are willing to go this route have access to 7.5 million respondents from 50 countries and you can narrow down your targeted demographic by gender, ethnicity, age, location, wealth-status, etc.
