After nearly 9 years, TechTour, founded by venture capitalist Sven Lingjaerde in 1998, is back in Russia.
Russian Tech Tour will run from April 23-26 and will be held in Moscow and Kazan. The purpose of the TechTour is to showcase tech companies in their expansion / development stage although between 10 and 40 percent of them will be in seed and early stage. Selection committee includes a large number of well-known and active Russian venture investors, including representatives from Almaz Partners, Runa Capital, iTech Capital and many others.
Participants will arrive in Moscow on April 23rd and will sit in on presentations at Digital October and Skolkovo before flying together to Kazan for the remainder of the event. The early-bird price for the trip, which runs out on March 8th, is 3,600 euro and the full price is 3,950 euro.
Russian Tech Tour is a part of a larger group of tech tours. The countries are part of a 3-year rotation, so there will not be another chance to partake in this Russian tour until 2016. However, according to Jaimie Guerra, the project manager of TechTour, there will soon be tours for more countries in eastern Europe.
In addition to the possibility of networking with some of the top venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, and figures in the Russian tech community, one of the highlights is the 25 presentations that will be offered for attendees. Unfortunately, there’s not a list of companies that will be offering presentations because that information will only be made available to delegates on April 23rd and one month after the event concludes for everyone else.
