We’ve just learned today that the Croatia-based SocialBrando has been acquired by Czech startup SocialBakers, a company which provides clients with software for analyzing the effectiveness of their social media channels.
SocialBrando is a company dedicated to assisting clients with the management of their advertisements on Facebook. The company’s software allows end-users to manage their content and track the effectiveness of these campaigns in real-time. More specifically, the software package offered enables users to manage their campaigns by targeting users by age, gender, and other keywords and to easily make bulk changes to their advertisments.
We actually wrote about SocialBakers when they raised $6 million in funding from IndexVentures. The company provides cloud-based social media pages analytics which enables companies to track customer-responsiveness and the efforts of their competitors in particular, and social-media accounts in general.
We asked Socialbakers’ CEO, Jan Rezab for a comment, and received an official statement in a press release: “Measuring the true impact of social media advertising is still in early stages. Socialbakers, with its robust platform and its state of the art social media insights, will offer a unique product, which will not only measure the impact of social media ads, but also help find the right audience demographic. Marketers will, for example, be able to see which target audience is being reached by their competition”, he said.
The financial terms for the deal were not specified, but the co-founders of SocialBrando, Mario Francesevic and Andrej Bobos will receive equity in SocialBakers and their company will receive an unspecified amount of cash. As a part of SocialBakers, SocialBrando will continue to be based in Split, Croatia and will become the former’s 10th international office. Further, as a part of the move, the SocialBrando team will simply be integrated into SocialBakers’ business.
For SocialBakers, the move represents an opportunity to build upon their already-popular range of analytics tools.
Another Croatian startup in social media space is SocialNumbers. It analyzes popularity of Facebook pages, and perhaps predictably it did not attract a similar degree of attention from SocialBakers, due to the similarity of the Facebook page analytics services.
