A group of Estonian investors has announced that they will be collaborating on a new venture, an angel network to be named The Estonian Business Angels Network. 25 investors will be a part of this new network and Allan Martinson, Peeter Klanberg, Marek Kiisa, Ivan Siimar, Andrei Korobeinik, Hardi Kampus, and Harri Mannisto will sit on the board of the Network, which expects to have 1 million euros to initially invest.
According to Baltic Business News, EstBAN, as the new network will be called, aims to increase 5-fold angel investment in Estonia by 2015 and to spurt the creation of 25 new companies per year. Each of the men who will be sitting on the board brings years of experience to the new venture.
One of the board members of the new organization and a prominent Estonian angel investor Allan Martinson achieved success back in 1990 when he helped in founding the Baltic News Service, which remains one of the leading media-services in the region. Andrei Korobeinik is one of the younger members of the group at only 32-years-old, and founding Internet businesses such as social-network rate.ee, dating-site flirtic.com, and crowdsourced mutual fund cutefund.com.
