We have been showing Webit Startup Challenge logo for a while now, and this month the conference organizers have selected the winners from over 500 applications from 50+ countries.

Amongst the winners we see familiar Eastern European “faces”, among which are Mediatoolkit from Croatia (participant of last year’s Ennovation in Poland), Belladati from Czech Republic (participant of The Next Web 2012), Tickera from Serbia (participant of Seedcamp Zagreb), Appscend from Romania (participant of How to Web 2011).

The new names included Autosprite from Russia, GNERGY from Bulgaria, Imagga from Bulgaria, Subscrea from Poland and Work in Field from Slovakia. See this announcement for the full list of names of the 21 finalists which will get a stand at the Webit exhibition and an opportunity to pitch in front of over 200 investors.

Here is a brief description of the startups from our region, that are not in a stealth mode.

Mediatoolkit which we reviewed earlier this year, helps bloggers track the most popular content from online sources based on the numbers of Facebook likes, and the speed of sharing.

Belladati is a cloud-based consumer analytics for retail businesses.

Tickera is an event ticketing system, which allows selling tickets, deliver them to the attendees and process them at the event using a mobile phone app.

Appscend helps creating, deploying and managing mobile apps for small businesses.

Autosprite is an online marketplace for car owners and automotive product and service providers.

Subscrea is an ecommerce platform that allows setting up online shops and sell products on a subscription basis.

Imagga develops cloud-based tools for visual image search, processing and analysis. We know another company Kuznech from Russia, which is working on visual image search and manipulation.

Work in Field allows tracking trips with a smart phone, including managing mileage reports online. This can come handy in business expense reporting.

Webit Congress will take place on the 10th and 11th of October 2012 in Lütfi Kirdars Expo Center, Istanbul, Turkey.
