When your own photos are not enough: SlickFlick teams up with Getty Images to make iOS storyboards stand out

SlickFlick, an iOS app which allows putting together storyboards from photos, text comments and zoom-like transitions has partnered with Getty Images to help users make their stories shine. Just like this one.

SlickFlick is a Romanian startup through and through, bootstrapped by its Romanian-born founder Maria Constantinescu, who practiced law before founding SlickFlick. She is based in London while the technical team is in Romania.

I suppose for the regular users like you and me, our own images will be more than enough to create a story. Without music its impact is not as strong as that of Slovenian Slidemotion, for example, admittedly a Facebook rather than a mobile app. But SlickFlick feature to make and share stories on the mobile device is handy to get creative on the fly.

Getty deal and millions of its images will be most valuable for the professional “story tellers”, such as brand managers and social media experts who look for innovative and inexpensive ways to build shareable stories around branded products, or keep their social media feed fresh.

Business model, as with many photo sharing apps, remains unclear for now.
