I have met Mikita Mikado, the founder and CEO of QuoteRoller at a number of conferences. Mikado funded development of the cloud-based proposal tool from profits of his web development company Coding Staff, based in Minsk, Belarus.
Instead of offering you another proof that outsourcing industry is what will drive innovation in eastern Europe, I should rather tell you about QuoteRoller itself, which I have used for the first time today to develop a stunning outsourcing proposal for one of my clients.
If you recall the frustration of managing a supplier selection process and having to sort through zipped files full of assorted proposal-related documents, request your supplier to create proposals in QuoteRoller from now on. It is that great, convenient and easy to use. If you are the outsourcing supplier, QuoteRoller might just be your winning ticket to get the deal.
At GoalEurope we help find a software development supplier in a simple and straight-forward way by conducting a transparent and well-managed bidding process. From now on QuoteRoller will be used to help our vendors complete a beautiful web-based bids. In addition to answering standard sets of questions, our proposal teams can include images, videos and links, to bring all important information into one polished, clean web page. Without any programming skills whatsoever.
The tool allows sales teams collaborate on creating and saving standard text, describe services and their prices in various templates, and then reuse them as and when needed. Upon completing a proposal, decorated with images, videos, logos and customized backgrounds the sales manager can submit a web link containing the proposal with a personalized message to the client. The proposal team will get notified when the client visited the link. They can also add individual files, and convert the text of the proposal into a traditional PDF.
The tool is so good, I am going to insist that our supplier network submits proposals in this format from now on, but I do not think I have to push it too hard, as I believe it will become their first choice.
In addition, QuoteRoller also allows you to upload your sales leads from HighriseHQ, the contact / sales management tool (developed by 37 signals and funded solely by Jeff Bezos), and FreshBooks, cloud-based invoicing and accounting software.
The tool has its limitations at the moment. For example, the format of the PDF extract is fairly basic, and the web page analytics does not go beyond the first click on the proposal link by the client (this will be extended in the future, promises Mikado).
QuoteRoller has already become a finalist in startup competitions at Startup Week Vienna, IDCEE in Kiev and now IT Jump in Belarus. I have also heard a knowledgeable investor giving Mikado positive feedback last week.
Here is a short video how the tool works for a software development firm.
Intrigued? Try it out. I bet that in a highly competitive software development industry a sale tool like this can be an important element in winning the deal.
